Prior to joining the Sea Dogs, the Port City native was a part of four professional organizations over the course of nine years. He started his career working for the Saint John Flames as a visiting team dressing room attendant; he was promoted to Flames Assistant Equipment Manager for the 1995-96 season. During that time, Kelly gained invaluable knowledge and experience that has helped him in his current role with the Sea Dogs. David has also spent time with the Waco Wizards (WPHL) as well the Milano Vipers (Italy) and the Bracknell Bees (British Superleague) David also has served as an Assistant Equipment Manager at the AHL All-Star Game in Saint John in 1997; he also had the opportunity to work at an NHL training camp with the Calgary Flames that year. On top of all of Kelly's professional experience, he has also volunteered numerous hours towards Hockey Canada's Program of Excellence, having spent time working with Team Atlantic (U-18 Female) and Team New Brunswick (U-15 Male, U-16 Male, U-15 Female, U-18 Female) as well as attending two Senior Womens’ National Championships with Team New Brunswick. In all, Kelly has attended four Canadian National Championships (Two Esso Women's Nationals, one U-18 Women's Hockey Challenge, one Allan Cup - Senior Men’s Amateur Nationals) Kelly, an avid Boston Red Sox fan is always eager to get out and get involved in the community which in he was raised. He is a class of 96' alumnus of St. Malachy's Memorial High School in Saint John, and is also a proud trained and certified member of Maximum Edge. He is also a member of the Society of Professional Hockey Equipment Managers (SPHEM). |
